[Sussex] XP pain

While the problems are getting dramatically worse with the Windows
system you should do yourself the favour and set up the dual boot with
Linux. My distro of choice is Mandriva. Fedora is excellent and so are
the others. With Ubuntu you must remember to set up some normal (as
opposed to priviledged users).
Although there is some pain in the learning process once you cross that
hurdle you will enjoy the reliability and the total freedom from the
viruses.
You will also find that the boot up delay has gone and overall the
experience is just so much better.
The lack of crashes and freezes and re-boots (what's that) may give you
some serious withdrawel symptoms, but once you can accept that better
reliability you can begin to use the computer as you wish to.
Now who is master? the computer or YOU.
Just add in the fact that the software is free, being open source and
you can forget about spending money on software.

Windows users love viruses, others use UNIX and Linux.
