[Sussex] Mandriva media sources - urpmi data base locked

Dear All,

When I try to update and/or install on the control centre it takes a 
long time to load and the  urpmi data base locks.Is this because I have 
384 media sources?

Should I reduce these ? And ,if so, how should I choose between them.

And how do I remove the unwanted sources?
