Hi Desmond,

Well I wish you better luck than I have been having. I have installed two
packages that have definitely helped:

https://forge.betavine.net/frs/download.php/503/vodafone-mobile-connect_svn2
0090502_all.deb

http://www.pharscape.org/forum/index.php?topic=545.0

but the second one (for ozerocdoff) comes up as a Reported Attack Site?

I can now see the device in Network Manager but cannot connect to it. No
idea if it is just the settings or something more fundamental. Installing it
on a Mac confirms the Number as *99***9# and I have tried various other
settings from different sources (including Richie's) without success.

My device is a Vodafone Pro HSPA Stick K3760 - Repackaged Option iCon 431

Thanks,
Karl.

It is not stored on the SIM - its publically available information for
all networks - check here for APN information on all UK networks:

http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html

Nowadays, the network detects a change in MSISDN (Phone Number) and IMEI
(Handset ID) pairing, and usually sends an SMS with the appropriate
settings for the new device - however, this won't work for your PC, so
use the settings provided above.

Cheers,

Richie

Thanks for this information, I will be trying it on Friday and shall
confirm (or otherwise).
I will be installing a Vodaphone dongle on Mandriva.
