Personally I'd just use an RJ45 splitter [1] at both ends which allow
you to run 2 computers over 1 cable, then plug the computer into one and
the phone (via and adapter [2]) into the other. Much easier than doing
custom wiring.
Personally I have cat6 around the house and then patch the phone around
through this.
