"If they are already a School Agreement subscriber and need to renew prior
to a resolution of the referral process we would recommend that they ask
for a formal estimate of their buyout costs (which should have reduced
under the terms of the Becta MOU from a multiple of 3.2 times their annual
subscription to a multiple of 1.75). Once in possession of the exit costs"

From this I infer that if a school decides to stop using SA (but keep using
MS windows) they have to pay for the windows licences - once more - even though
they will have very likely obtained licences through thier supplier...

Note that no mention is made that if they install linux there is **no exit cost**
as they no longer using MS software!

Finally, it is worth mentioning that (FWUI) under the SA they DO NOT OWN
windows licences - they "hire" them year by year - which explains the
exit charge...

Also they hire the licences not on a per mahcine basis but on a per head basis
which is a *lot* mroe expensive for a school with a small number of machines.
