Afternoon all!

When I manage to make it to the moots I keep saying I'll do an
introductory talk someday for getting started with programming on Linux.
And I'm trying to cut down on procrastination. So, the topics I've been
idly considering would be:

# Linux as an IDE - the CLI as the basis of a superb hacking platform
# Writing apps - Actually writing code to do useful things
# Web hacking - using browser tools & javascript to control the web
# Open source hardware - controlling circuits with the Arduino

There's no chance at all that this could be done in one session, but
there's no reason they'd have to be consecutive if other people have
things they want to talk about. They would all be aimed entirely at
beginners - no prior knowledge assumed (beyond the ability to run a
Linux OS)

So if there's any interest in any or all of the above topics, let me
know and I'll cobble something together. If not, then I'll just turn up
and eat chips occasionally :o)

Dominic
