[Sussex] 3g mobile wifi

Some of you may remember that I often used my own mobile wifi a the Sussex
Lug. Once when Dominic gave one of his talks we were in a different room
from our usual one and Dominic had his internet connection through my
device.
Since February the device did not function reliably, so I consulted 3g and
was advised of an upgrade. This should have provided 15 Gb monthly data
allowance and enhanced speed. There was a price increase but nothing else
seemed to materialise.
I am therefore in a dispute with them which has yet to be resolved.
They suggest that it is only due to the mast that supplies my area being
faulty and suggest that I operate somewhere else or wait for an indefinite
time for resolution.
Perhaps some of  you have heard of similar difficulties and it would be
interesting to hear any comments. If any of you go to the Surrey LUG
perhaps you could mention my difficulties to them for any possible comments!
