From paul at aptanet.com Mon Jan 14 23:45:30 2019 From: paul at aptanet.com (Paul Tansom) Date: Mon, 14 Jan 2019 23:45:30 -0000 Subject: [Sussex] Portsmouth and South East Hants LUG meeting Saturday, 19th January 2019 Message-ID: <20190114234527.GI8478@aptanet.com> The next Portsmouth and South East Hampshire Linux Users Group meeting will be this coming Saturday, 19th January 2019 from 1pm to 6pm in the Broad Oak Social Club, Hilsea. Talks start at 3pm. http://www.portsmouth.lug.org.uk/venue.html This month we have a talk from Andrew Howe: Load Balancing using the Linux Kernel Andrew is a FLOSS enthusiast from Southampton, currently working as a Linux engineer at Loadbalancer.org in Portsmouth. This talk will provide an overview of load balancing and how Linux is used to do it. While ‘application aware’ user-space load balancing software is all the rage these days, the Linux kernel contains a rock solid load balancing solution which is hard to beat in terms of raw performance. With a little knowledge, it's possible to build a Linux load balancer to meet the needs of even the busiest networks and environments. Sandwiches, tech talk and excellent company guaranteed as usual, of course.
