Yup, KDM works too. I set it up the other day, so hopefully my sister will
soon be enjoying Linux instead of The Other OS (TM).
My query is this: I've now got the X-related part of the system working, and
have the client box set up to boot straight into the KDM it gets from the
server. What ways can you suggest to shut down the client system, without the
user having to learn any 'complicated commands' (ie, typing things)?
KDM provides a shutdown button, which can be linked to any command. I assume
it would be possible to use some ssh-based command that would log in to the
client and execute 'halt', but this seems untidy, since it would require
pass(words, phrases) being stored on the server. Anyone have a better idea?
