In practice, apache is going to be the simplest answer.

You make sure the relevant rpm/deb/tgz is installed,
then start the service.,

it will work out of the box.

master/default website is in either /home/httpd/html
or /var/www/html/

and per user websites in ~/public_html

couldnt be any easier really.
