If this is about the Hofstadter book, I have a copy I no longer need. (A few
pounds would be nice, but not essential.)
About a possible meeting-place in Swansea, you (or I, but I can hardly ever
get to meetings anyway) might glance at the Heyokah in Humphrey St just off
Walter Road. It's a bit further from the station than the Goose, but parking
isn't difficult in the evening. They have good (if a bit too organic) food,
a meeting-room that costs 5lb an hour (perhaps that's too much?), and seem
pretty friendly. It's not licensed, so there's no age problem, but it might
depress people who are gasping for a drink.
Is there any possibility that someone might set up some kind of noticeboard
for selling/exchanging old hardware? It would need a separate list, to avoid
clogging up Discuss. It would be nice to have a place where deals could be
done without giving credit card numbers & perhaps even without postal costs.
