[SWLUG] Buying a new laptop

I'm after a new laptop and got an ALDI leaflet through the door about a
£999.99 one they have in this week. There is a discussion about it and a
spec of it here http://www.whatlaptop.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7207 I
was just wondering if, from that limited information, it should (in theory)
work well with linux on it... (not sure what distro to use, but that is to
be discussed at a later date :) )

The main points I was thinking about is, will the NVida mobile GForce card
and the LG DVD-RW work...

anyone seen any other half decent specced laptops at a simliar/cheaper
price??
