I looked around and couldn't really see much going in
the way of reviews of UPS systems. In the end, I
plumped for an Energy Protector 500VA UPS 35M by some
company called Trust. I know they make a lot of pretty
basic stuff but if it works, it's ok. Not that there's
much to go wrong with a UPS system as they're
essentially a transformer, charger, battery and
inverter all combined - none of which is high
technology. On the basis that when the battery dies, I
can simply get a bigger battery from somewhere else
(higher capacity) then as long as the circuitry is ok,
it should last. Mine was £50 from savastore (lots of
nasty comments about savastore in Dealtime but I've
dealt with Watford Electronics before and they seem
ok).
