That's a well spec'ed machine.

I did the same and bought all my stuff from land of computers (atfer 
getting quotes from the net and getting him to match the price!)
The tech guy seems to be a 'bit' aware of Linux.

I can say as regards the DVD duellayer I have only used the liteon stuff 
with all my linux boxes.

I'm runing a linux Digital Audio workstation built by myself and it's 
been fine running 64bit Audio.
