[SWLUG] linux newbie

Hi people.

As the subject says, I'm a Linux newbie and have a lot of questions but I'll save those for later on.  I'm just thankful that there is at least one registered LUG in Wales. :)

Being in the kind of position where I find myself back in high school, it honestly feels like I'm learning Spanish for the first time although a few of my collegues at a local IT helpdesk have been kind enough to show me the ropes.

However, I very rarely see my workmates outside work now (as I'm soon to be a family guy), so i decided to join a Linux User Group, mainly as online correspondance will be the main opportunity I'll have to learn from other people after the new sprog pops out next week!

So, please feel free to mail me back and although I don't wish to start a "which distrobution is great" conversation, I am more than happy to learn more about other distros as well as Ubuntu (which I'm more than comfortable with for the time being).
