Download turboprint 1.94 and install that first, I had a bit of a
problem with the earlier version but it just went away after the new
version was installed. Don't ask what the problem was cos I've
forgotten what it was already ;-)
Oh and I am running Ubuntu 5.10 and have Canon i560 both working OK.
