Finally, the moment you've all been waiting for[0] ...

The long-promised reprise of the SWLUG Lightning Talks has arrived,
albeit at rather shorter notice than was hoped for. Thanks go to the
Cardiff School of Computer Science <http://www.cs.cf.ac.uk/>, who are
providing the venue at no cost to us.

The event itself will be on Tuesday 7th February 2006, in the
Trevithick Building, The Parade, Cardiff <http://tinyurl.com/8aefs>,
7pm for prompt 7.30pm start. This will be a ground-floor location,
near to the regular Cardiff meeting venue, the Ernest Willows.

The evening will follow a similar format to the first event in
Swansea, with a dozen or so talks on a variety of topics, with
optional drinks afterwards.

Any potential speakers not familiar with the concept of these talks
may find the following introduction useful. Timekeeping won't be
overly strict, so don't worry if your talk works out to 5 minutes and
10 seconds. <http://www.perl.com/pub/a/2004/07/30/lightningtalk.html>

Another useful resource is the lists of talks given at the last event,
those offered and not given, and those wanted but not offered.
Remember, your talk does not need to be specific to Linux, nor
particularly technical. You could talk about a niche topic, or cover
something more mainstream.

I understand that this may be shorter notice than some might have
hoped for, but we were limited somewhat by room availability, and my
prime concern was this not turning into yet another of those Things We
Talked About But Never Actually Got Around To Doing(TM).

Hope to see you all there. Thanks for your support,

[0] I offer no guarantee to this effect
