Just as an idea, since it seems to be only a handful of accented characters that are being broken, and knowing full well that it would just be a hack rather than a "proper" solution... Couldn't you just use "tr" to swap the A tilde and (C) into whatever letters they should be? If all else fails :o) Foeh
