The control centre application runs rpmdrake which in turn run the command
line urpmi for installation of apps.
open terminal
su to root
then try running rpmdrake. If this fails it is possible that your rpm
database has become corrupted so may need to clean it.
Would also advise setting up a net connection rather than installing from
dvd as 2007 as now 6 months out of date. You can do this by going to here
-> http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/ and following the instructions. These are
community update repositories as the mandriva ones require club
membership.
