The company I work for have an opening for a Javascript / AJAX developer 
- ideally with a couple of years experience developing in a commercial 
environment.

Smallish office of 10 people in Cardiff Bay - good bunch of people and a 
chance to make quite a bit of difference / have quite a lot of influence 
from the start.

You can run Windows / Linux on your desktop - both myself and the head 
of development use Ubuntu atm.

JavaScript Developer (JavaScript, AJAX, CSS)

Job Description
---------------

We are currently looking to recruit a JavaScript/AJAX developer to 
complement our existing development team. Job responsibilities will 
include but not be limited to the following:


Platform Development

1. Building the web based user interface for the new SubHub publishing 
platform
2. Working with the back-end developers to produce a tightly integrated 
world-class product
3. Contributing to the development of new features and functionality
4. Contributing to the improvement and/or enhancement of the existing 
SubHub platform
5. Integrating third-party modules and capabilities
6. Making recommendations about future applications and functionality


Project Management

Tracking important projects and tasks to completion to ensure that 
necessary activities are completed on schedule, within budget, and 
reporting project status on a regular basis.


Client and Technical Support

1. Providing implementation support for new client and bespoke websites
2. Providing rapid response to technical issues as they arise, including 
being on-call as and when required

On a regular basis the candidate may be asked to undertake other related 
activities not specifically listed above.


Candidate Qualifications
------------------------

The ideal candidate will:

* Have a minimum of 2 years commercial experience of developing web 
based front-ends with Javascript / AJAX and CSS
* Be passionate about their work and know when a solution is most 
effectively implemented
* Have experience with open source technologies, particularly PHP, MySQL 
and Apache.

The candidate will also possess:

* A strong working knowledge of contemporary web technologies and 
experience with ongoing and emerging trends online.
* Strong project management mentality; ability to prioritise development 
tasks, report on progress and stay on schedule
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* University degree in computer science or a related field
