[SWLUG] udf progs

i have a borked dvd from a dvd camcorder, i've recovered the video on it using 
a windows virtual machine so i know it can be done and that my hardware is up 
to it, bit i'd like to find out how to do that in linux in case there is a 
next time, all i can find regarding linux and udf (the filesystem on the dvd) 
is udftools which appears to be unmaintained and doesn't seem to have any 
tools for recovery,

can anyone point me in the right direction?
