[SWLUG] An error occurred

I got fed up trying to get the dvd's to play so i got rid of Xubuntu 8.10 and installed Linux Mint 7 (Gloria) and i'm really impressed. Everything worked straight out of the box! Thanks for all the replies

I'm probably pointing out the really obvious, but:
 
1 - Have you checked the permissions for the /media directory?
2 - Are the DVD codecs installed on your system?
