i have an advent 4211c which i bought in pcworld or currys
think it was quite a bit less than 300.
had to install ubuntu on it myself but i love it
not exactly silent but pretty quiet. decent battery life. built in
webcam etc
had some issues with the wifi in previous versions of ubuntu but it
seems to work ok at the moment.
its the same as an msi wind (apparently) but with a rebrand which means you
can by a massive battery for it, the battery physically sticks out of
the bottom but it gives something like
6-10 hours of life.
dont forget you will need a usb cdrom drive for any netbook as they
never have one built in
