This is untrue.  TUPE requires that they continue to employ you on your 
existing contract.  They can offer you a new contract to sign, but they 
can't do anything ot force you to sign it (i.e. "sign it or you're fired" 
is illegal).  If you fail to sign the new contract, you remain employed on 
your existing one.

It wasn't really that much of a problem - the law was on my side, I simply 
told them the new contract wasn't acceptable.
