[Swlug] DNS - do A & AAAA conflict with CNAME?

When you do a CNAME for the www record, its fairly harmless, you arent
going to use that record for anything else.

but then who actually types www any more, you want your website on the
root record, but if you CNAME that, you give away the whole thing. Not
just the A record, but MX, SPL, and many more besides. 

So you cant run any other service on that name then, but the holder of
the RHS address can.  Also if you do try to run mail on that domain
youll find weird things happening, as some mail servers see the cname
and start doing email address mapping as well. a big mess.
