Based in the University’s flagship Hadyn Ellis Building, you will be
part of a team of 3 people responsible for supporting the cutting-edge
research carried out by the Division and the MRC Centre for
Neuropsychiatric Generics and Genomics. In particular, you will focus
on bioinformatics and genetic sequencing research with the provision
of High Performance Computing (HPC), UNIX/Linux and associated
expertise.

You should be able to demonstrate significant experience and skills in
Linux system administration, including fluency in Bash, experience of
provisioning tools such as Ansible, monitoring tools such as Ganglia,
version control with Git in addition to Linux based programming and
debugging skills. Knowledge in the use of free and open source tools
and techniques is also essential as is experience in the design of
web-based systems and associated techniques and interfaces.

Your technical skills should be matched by your proven ability to
communicate complex technical issues clearly, professionally and in a
way which can be understood by a wide range of people. A highly
organised and flexible approach to work is required and experience in
free and open source software development will be highly desirable.
