I'd been wondering about a self-hosted solution for a few weeks, more
specifically in 14 days of social distancing I'd been practicising after
my flight back in through CWL :/

If I had 330 Mbps FTTP, like those 334m from my home (and from there all
the way along the diminishing distance back to the exchange) then I
could experiment, lightening the load/avoiding the Zoom & Teams
brownouts of yesterday. If only I could find a place to register for the
universal service obligation.

A colleague has had great success with self-hosted NextCloud for
fileshare & sync, but don't think he's had a reason to try out video
chats yet, and his download is about ~70Mbps.
