[Swlug] I'm working with GPS at the moment.

I picked up a Waveshare L76B GPS unit a while back. Over the last few days I've been playing with it using the demo code. (https://youtu.be/aHO9eT7Vfb0). The test code works perfectly fine and it gives me coordinates on Beidu, GPS and Glonass systems. That's probably overkill but it works well enough.

What surprises me about the software supplied is that it gives no reading for altitude, speed and direction. That, I thought, was standard for most GPS units. I have a little unit that looks like a computer mouse and that gives those figures via the software.

Altitude - I'd have to calculate anyway using a microphone and a speaker using a frequency sweep. Direction and speed can be calculated using time and different GPS coordinates.

The challenge for me is always the maths. I'll have to hunt for the calculations to calculate speed and direction.
