I worked more on the code and got some more bugs out then beefed up the dictionary with more Morse code. It now (according to my Radio Ham people) sounds like good Morse Code and they can understand it. I'm open-sourcing the whole project for the Morse emergency radio transmitter. I'm currently waiting for a couple of power transistors to arrive that will allow me to switch the transmitter on and off from GPIO and to operate the Morse code key. My big delay is I have to wait until July for the two 5v 250ma solar panels necessary to arrive. Once they arrive I can put the whole lot together as it should be - all nicely packaged. That's my goal anyway. Then on with my next project idea.
