I had not even considered Android apps since so many seem so flaky. Curon gave me a brilliant idea there so I downloaded one and came up with the following....

I have never seen 10.10.10.254 used before. I'd have expected the device to be at 192.168.0.0 or thereabouts. Very strange.

Anyway. First attempt - connecting to 10.10.10.254 and then 10.10.10.10 with Chrome was a failure. Now I'm wondering what other avenue to try. I'm trying things outside since it's a 12v device plugged into my car then unplugging to go inside to use my computer. I'm not keen on leaving strange Chinese devices running and plugged into my car. Not without good reason either...

Yesterday I tried a Chinese $10 PWM charge controller on my outdoor solar cupboard. (see details on my Mastodon account http://techhub.social/@britishtechguru/  or my youtube http://www.britishtechguru.org) and the darned thing caught fire! Not as dramatic as it sounds... I smelled hot and found the controller was getting very hot. In fact I burned my hand on the back. I was alerted to something being off when the LCD display faded. Needless to say that charge controller made a very successful transition from the outdoor solar cupboard to the outdoor rubbish bin in my rubbish coral.
