[Swlug] I'd forgotten how awful Windows was

Today my new $160 laptop arrived. Low specced to some but adequate to me. 128GB eMMC. I'm in a corner trying to program the ATTiny85. The best drivers (digistump) are only available for Windows. As I'd been after this laptop for a long time, a $100 off sale made sure I bought it. It's an Asus L200.
Anyway now I run into a problem with Windows 11. It's stuck in S mode. I've updated it as much as possible. Command Line (whatever they call it now) gives me a cmd.exe error with a long string of error code. Thus I cannot run anything from the DOS window. Trying to get it out of S mode using Switch out of S Mode refuses to do anything. I press get and it refuses to proceed further, telling me "something happened". Each time I press "try again" I get the same message.
I'm getting the feeling windows is not going to play fair and that I will never be able to use the Digistump drivers (they took their linux drivers down). It does give me a fresh laptop for Debian but I would prefer to get it to work with the Digistump stuff. I downloaded the executables which it refuses to run without being out of S mode. Windows is so tied down that it is unusable.
