Hi Morgan, I am looking to do exactly the same and I'm currently chipping-away at this Ars Technica guide:-
https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2014/02/how-to-run-your-own-e-mail-server-with-your-own-domain-part-1/

I found it from the Notqmail website (at https://notqmail.org/about/ ). Notqmail is an alternative to Postfix with a much smaller codebase and emphasis on security, but the Ars Technica guide they recommend for beginners is actually about Postfix (and Dovecot, Sieve, etc.), so I am just going with that for now, and may later decide to switch-out Postfix for Notqmail.

Also, hi everyone, this is my first email to this LUG. I have been using GNU+Linux since early 2008, but several months ago, because my local LUG is not very Linuxy anymore, I decided to join the mailing lists of all adjacent LUGs that I was not already member to. :-)

Kind regards,
James R. Haigh.
