I would suggest going to abebooks and doing a search for C programming.

There you will find a lot of very reasonably priced books.

C does not have the apparent sex-appeal of C++ but is in many ways far more useful for programming than C++ etc. I believe the Arduino IDE allows both C and C++

When I was in WGIHE in the 80s we did a few weeks of C and then went to C++. I was the rebel that preferred Pascal, Cobol and Fortran.
