[Swlug] Christmas dinner thoughts.

Hi all,

Firstly, I agree that wherever we choose needs to be reasonably close to
Cardiff Central and the bus station to allow as many people as possible
to attend.  I live near the city centre so that would also be convenient
walking distance for me.

I am not vegetarian or vegan, and am not that keen on Indian food, so
VFS would not appeal to me (that's why I didn't go last year). However
as we have used it the last nine years it must be a strong contender and
a safe bet.

Personally a carvery would be good but most have very limited vegetarian
and vegan options (or indeed any options if you don't want a roast), and
I don't think there are any near Cardiff Central.

I have no idea what Coopers Carvery is like, but my other experience of
Marston's food offerings have not been great. It probably depends a lot
on the individual establishment. It wouldn't be suitable for the
location criteria anyway.

The suggested price range up to £35-ish is reasonable.  We should aim
higher than Wetherspoons for our Christmas meal!

I think partners or other guests (one per member) should be welcomed but
not expected as some of us are single.

I know my reply rejects the option we have used for many years and one
other, and doesn't add anything, but it's my thoughts.  I won't be that
bothered if I don't attend.

Best regards,
Paul
