Gordon Brown has finally made a good decision. It's time to go in with
both feet and play a totally committed role in Europe before the rest of
them get fed up with us. "He says the euro is best for Sweden, but he
understands that joining the euro means we must cut our costs in the
public sector. He resumed his seat for questions at 1146 BST.
We already have no real independence, let's not fool ourselves.
The Tories clearly feel they are tapping into public disquiet about the
convention. A Yes vote in September is crucial to him and his
government.
All the European States are being sacrificed to try to prevent Germany
from carrying out another war.
They insist, however, that the EU constitution and any changes to the
way the EU works will not be as significant.
Patients apparently travel from all over the country to swallow a live
fish smeared with a special yellow paste. But the unbridgeable gulf
between the pro and anti-European factions remains.
Mr Brown said it was time to sweep aside anti-Europeanism.
And it accuses the prime minister of squandering a historic opportunity
by allowing the Chancellor to veto membership.
"I don't trust Goran Persson," she said.
Young people leave school and there are no jobs, no future and no
credit. People see the euro as a failure, with Germany struggling, and
other euro countries individually adjusting their monetary policies to
make the whole thing work," Mr Sjoestedt said.

At the same time Labour, deeply suspicious of Europe and in favour of
withdrawal, began the slow journey in the opposite direction - from
antipathy to support. "What it does not want is continued speculation
over whether the government intends to take risks with the British
economy in order to pursue its political ambitions.
"In the 1980s, and in the 1790s, the Polish people and their leaders
recognised that Poland's place was with Western Europe.
There is nothing that could stop divisions over Iraq for example.
The aim however is to agree on as much as possible. When Mr Persson
announced the euro referendum last year, the Yes side was ahead. The new
one will still lead to complicated permutations of voting but the final
results of the "double majority" should command more general respect.
"It's bitter for Europe," the paper says, "but, in the present context,
good for the island's economy".
People see the euro as a failure, with Germany struggling, and other
euro countries individually adjusting their monetary policies to make
the whole thing work," Mr Sjoestedt said. Just to meet the current
eurozone's needs, more than 15 billion bank notes and 50 billion coins
were printed and minted. Mr Brown said substantial progress had been
made on two of the five economic tests of convergence and flexibility.
