 Hi,

I have a lenovo ThinkPad T420 in immaculate condition except its speakers
have a mould problem.

Can it be salvaged at all? If not, can certain components be recovered? If
not, is it a total write off?
This sounds highly unusual. The heat generated by the electronics, when in use, generally keeps electronic devices too dry for mould to grow. Was the laptop subject to an accidental spill?

Either way, plugging headphones or external speakers into the headphone jack would isolate the internal speakers and give good sound quality.
Is it practical to bring it to the LUG for others to get a look?
RegardsAlan

TIA,

Ian
