Correct! Thanks for responding.
I have since ploughed through reams of stuff on PHP because I remembered
some previous reference to this and found the appropriate passage: If the
code contains a reference to a PHP script the file must have a php extension
otherwise the interpreter wont kick in.
I had misunderstood this and also forgotten to be honest. It all works
swimmingly now and all the scripts work fine incl. JavaScript, CSS, PHP and
of course HTML. All the MySQL calls are processed correctly as well.
Cheers and a happy new year, Walter

Hi,
Thanks to all your help I now have PHP and MySQL working. Its writing to
and from databases so I am well chuffed.
HOWEVER (and there is always a b... problem with Linux), I have used *.php
files to run all the SQL stuff and now want go back to embedding PHP in
HTML. For whatever reason, although the html code works fine, the
embedded <?php ...?> is no longer processed. It just ignores it and deliver
all the HTML.
I have not changed the server in any way. I did have to install some
additional extensions for PHP-MySql but that was all. It was working
correctly after that but not now.
Any ideas? Many thanks.
Walter
