We briefly discussed the future of MySQL post-Sun in the last meeting,
speculating on whether or not Sun would try to make it less open.  Well,
some relevant news just hit /.

Sun/MySQL have road-mapped new features which will not be open.
Importantly there is a comment added to the blog post by Marten Mickos
(former MySQL CEO, now Sun's database SVP) confirming this.

Will be interesting to watch the community response (and likely
over-reaction, fire and brimstone, and trolling.)
