I have set up a basic php homepage for us - nothing really on it yet
but the login is a link at the bottom,

user: admin
pass: gulsGULW

I have a file in the root for us:

changes.log

I leave notes of what I have done so far. So maybe later I'll get
vsftpd up and running. We can have a discussion about
security/firewalls etc as there are people in the group more
knowledgeable.

Alain, I like your idea for a swap partition? I need to read up on the
NSLU Linux page to see if this is a good idea.

Here's that page for you all:

http://www.nslu2-linux.org/
http://unslung.blogspot.com/2008/08/cherokee-web-server-install-part-two.html

There are some idiosyncrasies with the user management - read how this
is managed with the web GUI before adding users or email me - only
really important for the vsftpd setup.

any ideas for backup of the disk key too? Can this be automated so if
it gets screwed we can revert to an earlier?

Happy slugging,

plum
