Sorry - Third attempt at a post - I used the wrong email

I have been tinkering further with my Media Linux box and have got the
infra-red control working very happily (lircrc config files for
gmusicbrowser - available for anyone else who wants to attempt this).

What I am totally stuck on is finding a client for LCDPROC the server
for the LCD panel on the front of my Scaleo E PC. I do have it
displaying a hello message but that's about it.

LCDPROC requires a client to send information to the screen - There
are some Perl examples for Xmms but it is beyond my limited hacking
skills. I have a basic Perl script to parse via DBUS, the track list,
artist and album info from gmusicbrowser. What I do not know how to do
I sent this to the LCDPROC server.

The LCD driver is dm140 and this seems to be ok. It does seem to be a
case of rolling your own client - The documentation is too obscure for
me. Has anyone had any experience of LCDPROC?

I can post up some of the Perl bits if anyone fancies having a go.

LIRC is great - I am zapping everything in sight.

thanks

Plum
