Depends on where you are, but most of Aber should be able to get 2meg
connections. I've heard rumours that parts of the town have aluminium
cables (I think these were places on the south side of the rheidol) and
they have a lot of trouble with ADSL and ISDN, but I don't actually know
of anybody who's not been able to get ADSL in Aber.
BT have just relaxed the conditions for your line passing their checks so
you will almost certainly be able to get a 512k connection.

Avoid the larger companies like wanadoo, BT, etc. Go for somebody like
eclipse, nildram or plusnet. Checkout http://www.ispreview.co.uk/ (as well
as adsl guide which somebody else mentioned).

There is no cable in Aber so things like NTL, Telewest or blueyonder won't
work.

All ISPs participating in the BT wholesale scheme (thats basically all
ADSL isps except Bulldog, Easynet and Kingston Communications) should work
in Aber. I think there are now over 200 of them so you have no shortage of
choices. Many of them give unlimited downloads, but there's usually a
"reasonable use" clause so don't expect to use the connection at 100%
nonstop without getting kicked off.
