               Swydd tymor penodol hyd at 31 Rhagfyr 2008

Mae’r Llyfrgell yn gweithredu Vital, System Rheoli Asedau Digidol
(DAMS), sydd seiliedig ar system côd agored FEDORA
(http://www.fedora-commons.org/). Bydd deiliad y swydd yn cynorthwyo
i ddatblygu ffwythiannau mewnbynnu a dosbarthiad ar FEDORA yn ogystal
â datblygiad System Derbyn CD’s. Mae gwybodaeth weithredol am Java, XML,
XSL, a Linux yn hanfodol a byddai gwybodaeth am PHP, Perl, CSS, Tomcat,
Apache, MySQL a SOAP yn cael ei ystyried yn fantais. Byddai hefyd yn
fanteisiol cael gwybodaeth am neu brofiad o METS, OAIS, a Thechnolegau 
Llyfrgell Ddigidol.

Disgwyliwn y bydd gan ddeiliad y swydd radd dda mewn cyfrifiaduraeth neu
bwnc cyfatebol neu brofiad diweddar perthnasol. Mae’r gallu i weithio’n
effeithiol fel rhan o dim bychan o staff technegol yn hanfodol, a

      Development Programmer – Digital Asset Management System (DAMS)

                      Band 3: £18,616 - £24,426

              Fixed term post until 31 December 2008

The Library is currently implementing the VITAL Digital Asset Management 
System (DAMS), which is based on the open source FEDORA system
(http://www.fedora-commons.org/). The post holder will assist in the
development of ingest and dissemination functionality for FEDORA as
well as development of a CD Accession System. A working knowledge of
Java, XML, XSL, and Linux are essential and knowledge of PHP, Perl,
CSS, Tomcat, Apache, MySQL and SOAP would be considered an advantage.
It would also be advantageous to have knowledge and / or experience
of METS, OAIS and Digital Library Technologies.

The successful candidate will have a good degree in computing or a
related subject or recent relevant experience. The ability to work
effectively as part of a small team of technical staff is essential
and the ability to communicate in both Welsh and English is desirable.
There will be a requirement to work on an occasional Saturday.
