It sounds unduly complex. I'd consider running Amanda in the Dom0 and
using it to backup both DomUs, which should be more straightforward. The
alternative, which under normal circumstances I would prefer, would be to
run BackupPC on a remote server if you have one available, and use that to
backup the Dom0 and DomUs.
