[Wiltshire] Talk on computer forensics

For anyone who may be interested in this event:
On Thursday 15th January Marc Kirby (Senior lecturer and academic lead
for the Forensic Computing MSc course at Cranfield University and former
Head of Computer Forensics at the National Hi-Tech Crime Unit) will give
a talk at New College, Swindon, on Forensic Computing.
Computers, personal digital assistants and mobile phones are examples of
Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
Affordability and increased functionality has led to a worldwide
proliferation of ICT devices. As a consequence ICT are used both to
commit crimes and capture evidence of a wide range of crimes ranging
from terrorism to sexual assault.
This talk will discuss the challenges and opportunities of forensic
computing in the ever changing ICT environment.
Registration is from 6.30pm with the presentation scheduled to start at
7pm and finish at 8pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
The event has is being put on by the Wiltshire branch of the British
Computer Society, is free to attend and open to both members and
non-members.
