I'm now with Zen, the most basic 100megs connection. Works beautifully,
streams Netflix/BBC iPlayer faultlessly for hours.
Simon has given me a load of help with obtaining decent routers flashed
with OpenWRT and a long day of education on IPv6 which Zen provision on
request. Thanks. Email request late one evening, IPv6 working early
next morning.
Now I have the DNS A and AAAA records set up and the MX pointing
properly at them rather then bouncing my email off the noip server
somewhere over the pond.
Very happy indeed. I would suggest anyone else who wants to leave
virgin should give them notice to leave as soon as Zen is booked to
install. They say when you book them that it takes two visits, one to
survey and one to install but they did mine in one. Virmin insist on 30
days notice so give them the boot as soon as Zen, A&A whatever is
booked to install.
The virgin landline number went invalid this morning but the TV cable
hasn't gone dead yet.
Dave
