I googled and downloaded the mplayer-k6 package but I can't remember
where from exactly.
I did build it from source in the end, now all I need to do is upgrade
my CPU so
audio and video stay in sync.

Now I have NVidia's Linux drivers video flies like snot off a stick, I
just wish they were free.
Sigh...
