telnet is your friend. Try "telnet 82.47.81.119 25" then when it answers, do
"helo spammer" then
"mail from: spammer@spam.com"
"rcpt to: victim@victim.org"
after the last line you should get relaying denied (and you do!) This is a
basic test for an open relay (and you have now learnt how to talk basic SMTP)
For a full test try submitting to one of the open relay blacklists, however if
it fails you will be blacklisted until you get it fixed (you too can join BT
in being distinguished in this way).
