Check out www.aibo.com.

They are pretty advanced devices. They have CMOS
camera, microphone, sensors, temperature gauge, infra
red gauge, jointed limbs, memory stick reader, pc card
reader.

Then there is the software and it does stuff like
voice recognition, full autonomy and loads of other
good things. :D

When you look at the hardware involved they are not
expensive as they may seem.
