I've run out of room for my smooth logs. My logs have no where to go!!

My /var/log is full, it's only about 900k big too the partition on hda3 that 
is
should I create a symbolic link for my logs? Into my root partion? and have 
me logs fill up that part of the disk? can I set a script that will eat my 
logs after a week or so?

comedy most certainly intended ;)
