yeah that were what got me into it an all - I ain't a
programmer either (holds a slight interest for me but
seriously don't think it's ever gonna be a path that i go
down) done a bit of multimedia type stuff but pretty basic
really - however the implications of communal working &
free sharing of information in the times of acts such as
the RIP one (it's MY information & you gonna have to pay ME
a load a dollar if you wanna use it, or even just look at
it) are of immense import both politically and socially.
When i think of those linux equals communism scare stories
it just makes me laugh - that in itself would be enough to
get me to use it (not that I consider myself to be a
communist)

basically i've been using mandrake as my first choice
desktop/os for about a year now & only use windows when
neccessary - this is increased by the fact that i can at
times be a lazy linux boy - but then when i do find the
time to get stuck in and solve problems - i really enjoy
it. The socio-political aspects are for me at the heart of
what we're currently trying to achieve with A2RT - mine &
steve's computer recycling/linux propagating organisation -
& it seems to be going well - there's a possibility (but
only a possibility at this stage) that come next year we
may be putting recycled computer running linux into
literally thousands of homes in Brum - which will be well
wicked if it happens.
